Layne Staley

My iPod has flittered upon the Alice in Chains tune “Real Thing.”

Layne Staley died last year with little fan-fare, and I couldn’t help but think of what a cultural icon Alice in Chains would be right now if he had offed himself in 1994 instead of Cobain. (Maybe after the Unplugged album in ’96, but you get my point.)
